The collaboration, announced by Dubai’s Department of Economy and Tourism (DET), marks a major step toward integrating digital assets into everyday transactions.
Residents and businesses in Dubai can now pay for select government services using cryptocurrencies, starting with popular tokens such as Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Crypto.com’s own CRO token. The initiative aligns with Dubai’s ambition to become a global hub for Web3 and blockchain innovation.
Crypto.com will act as a technical facilitator, converting crypto payments into local currency in real time, ensuring smooth integration with government payment systems. The move is expected to boost digital asset adoption and offer residents more flexible payment options.
