Her Highness Sheikha Bodour bint Sultan Al Qasimi, Chairperson of the Sharjah Book Authority (SBA), chaired a board meeting attended by board members and executive leaders to review the Authority’s digital transformation roadmap for 2025–2028 and discuss the expansion of its international participation across Europe, Asia, Africa, and Latin America.
The meeting also focused on the progress of SBA’s strategic projects and enhancing the publishing ecosystem’s readiness to keep pace with the rapid global transformations shaping the industry.
During the meeting, Sheikha Bodour Al Qasimi reaffirmed that Sharjah’s cultural vision, led by His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah, is rooted in building a sustainable knowledge economy and strengthening the global presence of Arab culture through investment in books, translation, publishing, and international partnerships.
She highlighted that the publishing industry is undergoing major shifts that require innovative tools capable of expanding access to knowledge and amplifying the presence of Emirati and Arab literature in global markets.
She added that SBA’s role today extends beyond organizing cultural events to building an integrated ecosystem that empowers writers, publishers, and translators while creating wider opportunities for Arabic content to reach and influence audiences worldwide.
