Oman and France have signed 12 agreements, memoranda of understanding and declarations of intent during His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tarik’s official visit to Paris, marking a significant step in expanding bilateral cooperation across key economic and strategic sectors.
The agreements were witnessed by Sultan Haitham and French President Emmanuel Macron at the Élysée Palace and cover logistics, ports, civil aviation, investment promotion, renewable energy, water management, healthcare, education and space cooperation.
Among the major announcements were agreements to advance the Muscat Metro project, develop the 500MW Al Kamil and Al Wafi solar power plant, and strengthen collaboration in water infrastructure. The two countries also launched initiatives to support Omani startups seeking expansion into the French and wider European markets.
The leaders reaffirmed their commitment to deepening economic ties, increasing trade and investment, and promoting sustainable growth through long-term strategic cooperation. The visit also highlighted the growing partnership between Muscat and Paris amid evolving regional and global economic priorities.
