UAE–Singapore Relations Strengthen Amid Regional Security Concerns

UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan has received a written message from Singaporean President Tharman Shanmugaratnam addressing the growing ties between the two nations. The message was conveyed to Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, during talks with Singapore’s Foreign Minister Dr. Vivian Balakrishnan.

The meeting focused on bilateral cooperation as well as regional security challenges, particularly the implications of recent Iranian missile attacks targeting the UAE and other countries. Both sides highlighted the broader impact on maritime security, global energy markets, and economic stability.

Dr. Balakrishnan reiterated Singapore’s support for the UAE’s efforts to safeguard its sovereignty and protect residents and visitors. Sheikh Abdullah welcomed the visit, emphasizing the strong and evolving partnership between the two nations.

Discussions also covered the US-Iran ceasefire and the importance of coordinated international efforts to promote lasting peace and stability. Both countries reaffirmed their commitment to deepening strategic cooperation, advancing economic growth, and supporting sustainable development objectives.
