Egypt and Saudi Arabia Reinforce Strategic Alignment on Gaza and Regional Stability

Egyptian President Abdel Fattah el-Sisi and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman reaffirmed their joint call for a sustained ceasefire in Gaza and renewed diplomatic momentum toward a comprehensive peace framework during high-level talks in Jeddah.

According to Egypt’s presidency, the two leaders stressed the importance of ensuring that all parties adhere to a ceasefire agreement while advancing a broader political initiative aimed at restoring long-term stability. They underscored the urgent need to facilitate uninterrupted humanitarian assistance into Gaza and accelerate early recovery and reconstruction programs.

Both sides firmly rejected any proposals involving the displacement of Palestinians from their land, reiterating that a two-state solution remains the only viable path toward a lasting and just settlement of the conflict.

The discussions, held during President El-Sisi’s official visit to the Kingdom, extended beyond Gaza to cover wider regional and global developments. The leaders highlighted the necessity of preventing further escalation across the region and emphasized dialogue-based solutions to ongoing crises. They also stressed Arab unity, respect for national sovereignty, and non-interference in domestic affairs as key pillars for regional stability.

President El-Sisi expressed appreciation for the Kingdom’s hospitality and conveyed his greetings to King Salman, while congratulating Saudi Arabia on the occasion of Founding Day.

The meeting featured a private bilateral session followed by a Ramadan Iftar hosted by the Crown Prince in honor of the Egyptian delegation.

On bilateral relations, both leaders pointed to the steady growth in strategic cooperation between Cairo and Riyadh. El-Sisi emphasized expanding collaboration across multiple sectors, while the Crown Prince described Saudi-Egyptian ties as central to regional balance and expressed commitment to deepening partnerships that serve mutual economic and political interests.

The visit concluded with an agreement to intensify coordination and political consultation aimed at safeguarding regional security and stability. The Crown Prince later saw President El-Sisi off at King Abdulaziz International Airport.
