Saudi foreign minister meets Western counterparts on sidelines of G7 talks

Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Minister, Prince Faisal bin Farhan, reinforced the Kingdom’s growing diplomatic and strategic footprint through a series of high-level engagements on the sidelines of the G7 Ministerial Meeting in Vaux-de-Cernay, near Paris.

Meeting with senior officials from the United Kingdom, Germany, France, Canada, and Italy, as well as the European Commission’s Vice President, the discussions reflected Riyadh’s proactive approach to navigating an increasingly complex geopolitical landscape.

According to the Saudi Press Agency, talks focused on evolving regional developments, with a strong emphasis on their security and economic implications. The meetings also explored avenues for enhanced coordination in addressing shared challenges, highlighting Saudi Arabia’s role as a key interlocutor between global powers and regional stakeholders.

The engagements underscore the Kingdom’s broader strategy to position itself as a stabilizing force and an essential partner in international dialogue, particularly as global markets and security dynamics become more interconnected.

Saudi Ambassador to France Fahad Al-Ruwaily and Waleed Al-Ismail, Director General of the Foreign Minister’s Office, also attended, signaling the importance Riyadh places on sustained diplomatic outreach and institutional collaboration.
